| Cap | The lacquered cap is set with 66 diamonds (~0,35 ct.). The cap ring is decorated with various creatures from the wild and fantastic world he experienced - il Milione and is enriched with 100 diamonds in brilliant cut (~0,4 ct.). |
| Cap Top | In reference to the historic atlas, a compass rose is finely engraved under the cap top of the edition. It is revealed by unscrewing the cap top bearing a Montblanc emblem made of pavé-set diamonds. On the underside of the Montblanc emblem, a further engraving is revealed, commemorating this family of great adventurers with the Polo coat of arms. |
| Clip | The clip, which is set with a diamond in princess cut (~0,09 ct.), represents the golden pass given to him by Kublai Khan, which guaranteed safe travels through the Khan’s kingdom. |
| Overall Design | The shape and color draws inspiration from a typical coromandel folding screen. The hand-engraved Au750 solid signature gold barrel shows a world-map which is inspired by the travel route of Marco Polo. The barrel is set with 36 rubies in brilliant cut (~0,144 ct.) and a diamond pavé on the lower part. |
