Cap The skeleton body and the pattern on cap and cone are inspired by the facade of the Louvre. The cap and the hematite in pyramid cut on the clip remind of the glass roof of the Louvre yard.
Cap Top The emblem is made of mother-of-pearl.
Clip To represent the symbol of the museum a hematite in pyramid cut is set on the clip.
Overall Design As an homage to one of the largest art museums in the world the design is inspired by elements from the facade and the symbol of the Louvre: the pyramid. The writing instrument is made of Au750 solid white gold.
Cone The cone is made of Au750 solid white gold.
Nib The rhodium coated Au750 solid gold nib is decorated with ornaments from the Louvre's facade.
Limitation The limitation pays tribute to the year in which the pyramid – the ‘new’ symbol of the Louvre was inaugurated (1989).
