Cherry blossoms in the spring and autumn leaves are portrayed, partly as Au750 solid gold inlays into the silver tube, with the main motifs, which are a palatial home of aristocrats, manmaku curtains, and an imperial cart as a vehicle. The 'border' between the lower and upper parts is decorated with Genji-ko, which is a pattern derived from kodo, or the Japanese incense ceremony. The motifs are laid out vertically to create a sense of perspective. The cap and barrel are made of Ag925 sterling silver, with 3D pattern and hand-engraving. |
